SPT Cabin Extravaganza

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

In case you have been hiding under a rock, Tahoe has been dumping and we have been getting epic snow. My PT class and I decided to get a Cabin in South Lake Tahoe for a few nights before getting back to the grind of school. We found a great cabin near Heavenly that fit all 15 of us. Earlier in the semester, we suffered through a Warren Miller film and got $17 Heavenly passes.

We went to sleep with icy conditions and woke up the next day to a beautiful snowy day. We had fresh pow pow all day long and the sun even came out! Despite the wind, my classmates charged the mountain and I was impressed by all of their abilities in sliding boxes, going of jumps and racing down the mountain (pretty good for a bunch of grad school nerds!) After a long night after a great day at Heavenly, only three brave souls decided to go a second day to Sierra. It was another beautiful snowy powder day and we rode till the resort shut down. Overall, it was a successful trip and hope that we go for round 2 next year!

WSR New Years

Monday, January 11th, 2010

This year WSR wanted to spend our New Years in the winter wonderland of Tahoe.  We lucked out with beautiful weather.  The snow would fall during the night, clearing up in the morning creating perfect conditions for shredding.  We rode 6 days in a row, and ended the trip with our WSR New Years Eve festivities.  Lake Tahoe is one of the most gorgeous places I’ve ever been and hope to make it our New Years tradition for years to come!
